How to pray
You do not need special language or a certain posture. Prayer is talking with a Father who already knows and still wants to hear it from you.
A simple pattern Jesus gave
Start by honoring who He is. Submit to His will before you bring your list. Ask for what you need today. Confess your sin and forgive others. Ask for protection and direction. Close in Jesus' name.
Pray your real words. Repeating phrases you don't mean is what Jesus warned against.
Matthew 6:9-13
"After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done..."
Matthew 6:6
"But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret."
Make it a rhythm
Pick a time and a place and keep showing up — morning, lunch break, before bed. Pray scripture back to God; when you don't know what to say, read a psalm out loud as your prayer.
Leave silence to listen. Keep a notebook of what you ask and what He answers; that record will build your faith.
When you have no words at all, that's covered too — the Spirit intercedes for you.
